As a lifeguard, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of our members and guests. students working for City of Vancouver Parks & Recreation can expect competitive pay and plenty of excitement throughout the summer. As a lifeguard, you must possess the following skills:
Comfort in and around open water with basic safety knowledge
Ability to comfortably navigate deep waters and use watercraft like surfboards, paddleboards, and kayaks
Successful completion of lifeguard prerequisite exam, including a 550-meter open water swim and treading water without hands for 2 minutes
Previous experience working with or teaching children is preferred
Red Cross Certification or WSI certification is a plus, but not required
Must be at least 18 years old
